Hygienic sanitary regulations for swimming pools and spas
REAL DECREE 742 / 2013
In 1850 Urban Spa Barcelona we strictly comply with the sanitary hygienic regulations. All swimming pools, especially indoor pools, need a thorough control to avoid infection by the bathroom.
The most common infections can be fungi, skin disorders or eczema, alterations of the vaginal flora, eye irritation. Ear or skin infections caused by the bacterium Pseudomonas, aeruginosa or Cryptosporidium, a parasite that can cause diarrhea. Another more dangerous infection is the Legionella.
To avoid all these possible infections, our staff makes continuous measurements of the water to see if the state of Ph and Bromine is optimal. We also measure the relative humidity of the air, CO2, and turbidity.
On the other hand, we have a maintenance contract with the pool control company SOLATEP, which analyzes monthly bacteria and Legionella analyzes every six months, according to the regulations.
These measurements and analyzes are kept in a pool maintenance book, which any client can request to see it and thus ensure that they can enjoy the bathroom without risks.
All pools and spas must have this book of records and must make the analysis indicated to comply with sanitary regulations.
- Bromine: should be between the values of 2 and 5 mg / l
- PH: it should be between 7.2 and 8
- CO2: the difference between exterior and interior not greater than 500 pm.
- Temperature: must not exceed the 36 º
- Turbidity: maximum 5.00 ntu
All these measurements undergo variations depending on the affluence of the public and can be altered, so it is important to control them and correcting these values.
